40K Digital Release: Dante

Games Workshop keeps cranking out the digital releases. This time Dante of the Blood Angels gets some attention:

Warlords of the Dark Millennium: Dante $3.99

All fear the Angel of Death! Lord Commander Dante – the Bringer of Sanguinius’ Light – rules over the storied Blood Angels Space Marine Chapter. Even amongst the most honoured Imperial Commanders of the 41st Millennium, Dante is a living legend. His heroic service to the forces of the Imperium has lasted for well over a millennia. He is believed to be the longest serving loyalist Space Marine that exists outside of those interred within Dreadnoughts.

Now, with Warlords of the Dark Millennium: Dante, you can find out more about the origins, history and famous deeds of this noble champion of the Adeptus Astartes.

From GW Digital Editions Facebook page:

With only 10 days to go until Christmas, today's 15th title in the 2013 Digital Advent Calendar is a new installment in the Warlords of the Dark Millennium series that focuses on the Chapter Master of the Blood Angels.

This book is a great resource for Blood Angles fans. It chronicles Date's rise to Chapter Master, from his induction into the Blood Angles as a boy, through the many wars he has waged in defence of the Imperium to become the the iconic leader he is today.

The book also features some beautifully illustrated images of his weapons and wargear (master-crafted naturally, only the best for the Lord of Angels)

Blood Angels: Land Raider rush list

(Pic from OnlyHD Wallpapers)

Slick here again with a list I´ve been working on for my Blood Angels. I´ve been tinkering with the idea of getting as many Land Raiders onto the field at 1850 while still having an effective list. Below I have a test list that I´m going to put through its paces very soon. Blood Angels actually have Land Raiders as Dedicated Transports which allows for more than 3 to hit the field. The Blood Angels also have the ability to get really cheap transports by having assault marines drop their jump packs to get a nice 35 point discount on any Dedicated Transports. So, let´s dig into the list:

I´ve got 4 Assault Squads each with their own Land Raider Crusader. The two big squads get double meltas to help deal with vehicles or other tough targets. The two smaller squads are barebones except for a flamer each, mainly cleanup duties. A Sanguinary Priest joins one of the big Assault Squads and our Librarian either joins the same squad or the other larger squad. The FNP bubble does spread out quite nicely from the Land Raider so it isn´t always necessary to get out. I´ll aim for about 5 practice games with the list as is before tweaking it. Comments and suggestions welcome!

News: Blood Angels additions

Slick here again. Got home and had a box from The War Store waiting for me! Here is what I ended up getting after waiting for what seems like an eternity for them to get one of the Hi-Tech miniatures back in stock! I also ordered a cool angelic relief panel for a vehicle. Both of these will of course go into my Blood Angels force! I can't wait to get painting on these! Anyone else order Hi-Tech Miniatures before?

Blood Angels: Sanguinor (wip)

Hello all, Slick here with an update for my Blood Angels. I've been working on the Saguinor as I finish painting up the various HQ choices I have. After finishing Dante, I knew I wanted to try the Saguinor. It's just such a great mini. Right now he's about 65-70% finished. I need to tidy up a bunch of spots and get to work highlighting all the various blood drops etc. The sword also needs some more detail as does the halo. Lastly, the armor needs some fine edge highlighting. Comments and suggestions welcome!

Hobby Update: Blood Angels Dreadnaught Drop Pod (wip)

Hello all, Slick here with aBlood Angels update. I decided to tackle the Drop Pod I won from the recent 40K team tournament. I built it with the intention of using it as a Dreadnaught Drop Pod so I left all of the internal 'stuff' out of the pod itself. FW does make a Dreadnaught Drop Pod but it's also rather expensive. The exterior is more or less finished I just have to add some 'Death Company' markings to it and touch up a lot of areas. The interior still needs some work, specifically the storm bolter and adding hazard stripes to each ramp.

What do you usually deliver with your drop pods?

Hobby Update: Finecast Astorath

Hello all, Slick here with a review of a recent Finecast purchase. I picked up a Finecast Astorath recently and compared to the metal one I had I'm very impressed with the detail and ease of assembly on this one. There was quite a bit of flash and mold lines were kind of bad in parts but overall great quality and not too much prep work was involved.

Assembly was a breeze. No pinning necessary and ready to go in a few minutes. $20 ish is probably a bit high for something this size but so far I'm impressed with the Finecast. I've also picked up a Terminator librarian to replace an unopened metal one I had. No assembly yet but a quick inspection revealed no real flaws on the model. I'll be painting up this Astorath shortly.

What have your experiences been with Finecast?
