Tau: Balanced Farsight List V1.0

Slick here with a first crack at a Tau list with the new codex. It focuses heavily on the Farsight bomb but has plenty of markerlight support and 2 Riptides to present opponents with more major threats. I went with two big units of Kroot decked out with the new sniper rounds. These guys should provide a nasty little surprise against the unwary opponent. Comments welcome!

Dystopian Wars: Ottoman Empire preview!

Slick here again with the latest Spartan news. Ottomans have finally arrived and this fleet is gorgeous! It is amazing how Spartan keeps releasing one quality design after another. The ships clearly have some inspiration from the French fleet yet they have a unique style all their own. This fleet also appears to be packing some serious firepower. Lots of broadsides and bombards across the various ship classes. This will be an exciting release for sure!

Naval Battlegroup
Sadrazam-Class Skimming Battleship
Fettah-Class Skimming Cruiser x 4
Mizrak-Class Skimming Escort Frigates x 8
Zuhaf-Class Small Flyer x 3 (no bombers?)
Skimming Mines (!) x 8

Support Group
Kanuni-Class Dreadnought
Sinop-Class Armoured Cruiser x 2
Avci-Class Destroyer x 4
Mizrak-Class Escort Frigate x 3
Zuhaf-Class Small Flyer x 3

And then recently this beast was unveiled:

It looks like we have a land/naval carrier on hand here with some impressive looking weaponry as well - 2 turrets and what look like 2 bombards in the centerline. Simply amazing! Now I'll have to get these in addition to the Italians!

News: Upcoming Necron Canpotek Tomb Sentinel from Forgeworld

Slick here with the latest from Forgeworld. Necrons get some more attention this time around with the release of the Canoptek Tomb Sentinel! Check out the pic and information below then head over to Forgeworld for many more pics and ordering info!

A brief description from Forgeworld:

Canoptek Tomb Sentinel
In the ages-old Necron panoplies of war,
the Canoptek Tomb Sentinel is all but unique. One of the last war machines designed by the Cryptek master-artificer Toholk the Blinded, at the Silent King’s command it was given over to the Praetorians for wider dissemination across the Necron dynasties before the Great Sleep.

Both guardian and aggressor, the Canoptek Tomb Sentinel is a heavily modified variant of the insectile Tomb Stalker, which forgoes that device’s hellish close combat ability and instead mounts an Exile cannon, a powerful weapon which blasts objects out of existence, casting them into other dimensional realms beyond the material universe. Phasing through the paltry defences of lesser races like a phantom, the Canoptek Tomb Sentinel can deploy this terrible device into the close confines of an enemy stronghold with devastating effects.

Eldar: FAQ V1.0 already available!

Slick here again with the latest for Eldar. In an unprecedented move Games Workshop has already released a FAQ for the new Codex Eldar, despite the launch still being a week away! Now if that isn't fast... There isn't much to see however as it is just a clarification on the Shadow Weaver.

Eldar Codex FAQ V1.0

Eldar are also up on the GW Advanced Orders page. Check out the miniatures here!

Blood & Kittens also has an extensive summary of the (rumored) rules thus far:

Most of the rules information can be gathered from the Battle Report section of the White Dwarf. Here is what we know.

Wraithknight: Can get Suncanons: S6 AP2 Blast Heavy 3. Twin-linked with Laser Lock if Scatter Lasers hit first. Jump Pack, Monstrous Creature, 6 Wounds, T8, (Scattershield) for Invulnerable Save
Crimson Hunter (Fighter): Gets 2 Bright Lances and Pulse Laser : "Basically Four Lascannons" Gets a "Fighter Ace upgrade"
The Hemlock (Bomber): Gets D-scythes (Str4) and Mindshock (Morale Check) Pod (Bomb) Distort Rule (D-Weapons) any penetration roll of 6 auto pens regardless of strength.
Psychic Powers: Fortune (Re-roll Saves), Quicken (Increased Movement), Guide (re-roll hits), Restrain (Opposite of Quicken) Two sets of powers accessible.
Dire Avengers: Battlefocus: run and shoot in the same turn.
Avatar: Fearless bubble, Fleet
Wraithblades: T6 Forceshield Generator so invulnerable save
Wraithlord: is still T8 The focus of the battle report was of course on the new units, especially the Wraithknight it is almost like GW wants us to buy a certain model or something...
Other little tidbits...

Phil Kelly wrote the rules and Adam Troke the fluff.
No price yet for Iyanden Supplement
Wraithguard can get either Wraithcannon or the D-scythe so this might mean split on rules from the old dex between each weapon.
The force organization of Eldar Unit hasn't changed just new models added into slots

Eldar: Products and Price List

Slick here again. The Eldar tidal wave continues and prices are available with models already on their way to stores. Overall the prices seems pretty standard are there are some notable exceptions here which are quite shocking. First we have a codex supplement which costs as much as the codex itself... and the massive Wraithknight coming in at an impressive $115 pushing the price of a regular 40K mini into the range of plastic Apocalype kits like the Baneblade. The Dire Avenger rebox is also telling as the model count is cut in half with only a slight reduction in cost.

Aside from Eldar it looks like various bikes are being rereleased as well.

What do you think about the new Eldar and some of these prices? Comments welcome!

Blood Angels: Land Raider rush list

(Pic from OnlyHD Wallpapers)

Slick here again with a list I´ve been working on for my Blood Angels. I´ve been tinkering with the idea of getting as many Land Raiders onto the field at 1850 while still having an effective list. Below I have a test list that I´m going to put through its paces very soon. Blood Angels actually have Land Raiders as Dedicated Transports which allows for more than 3 to hit the field. The Blood Angels also have the ability to get really cheap transports by having assault marines drop their jump packs to get a nice 35 point discount on any Dedicated Transports. So, let´s dig into the list:

I´ve got 4 Assault Squads each with their own Land Raider Crusader. The two big squads get double meltas to help deal with vehicles or other tough targets. The two smaller squads are barebones except for a flamer each, mainly cleanup duties. A Sanguinary Priest joins one of the big Assault Squads and our Librarian either joins the same squad or the other larger squad. The FNP bubble does spread out quite nicely from the Land Raider so it isn´t always necessary to get out. I´ll aim for about 5 practice games with the list as is before tweaking it. Comments and suggestions welcome!
