Battle Report: Tau vs Tyranids (from Miniwargaming)
Now that the Tyranids have been out for a while it is nice to start seeing some actual games with them. Is everything really as bad as internet commentators say? Check out this recent battle from miniwargaming. Granted, one battle is nothing definitive, but it is a start to some actual data on the bugs. Have you had any recent battles with or against the Tyranids? Share your experiences with us!

Forgeworld: Tech-Thralls with Las-Locks
Forge World releases more for the Mechanicum army with the new Tech-Thralls with Las-Locks!
From Forge World:
Tech-thralls are created by the Mechanicum through basic augmetics and cranial surgery as the need for them arises and, in the case of the Legio Cybernetica, the use of captured prisoners and criminals requisitioned from local authorities is common. Considered a lower order of being than most servitors by their masters, the ultimate fate of most tech-thralls is to end their lives recycled into servitor components and their implants harvested for use in future thralls as their bodies fail under the relentless toil to which they are subjected.
These guys look pretty damn awesome and should make for a great looking tech-guard army if you want to go that route. A full Mechanicum army is gradually becoming a reality. It is nice to see FW continuing to release stuff for the Mechanicum with the Horus Heresy releases taking so much of the spotlight. What do you guys think?

Painting Corner: New writer
What's up hobby gamers, Fiberglass Demon, and I'm the new blogger on the block. My schtick is painting tips and tricks. I'm no pro but I have been doing this a while and want to share the things that have made me better at this over the last nearly two decades. Coming soon will be articles that will showcase a different technique or trick I have found to be useful in advancing my own skills at this painting and modeling thing we do. Please bear with me as the computer guy in me is about three years old and not very good at it so things may take a while to take form but I promise to give you the most concise information I can and entertain along the way. In the meantime keep the brushes warm and the paint flowing. They won't paint themselves. OUT!

Horus Heresy: Red Butchers
The latest from the Horus Heresy releases:
For some amongst the World Eaters Legion, the cost of their treachery upon the killing grounds of Isstvan III would be their sanity, each devolving into mindless frenzied savages beyond the control of all. Rather than ‘putting down’ such individuals as had happened in the past, the World Eaters Apothecaries had the mad subdued and chained for a far darker fate.
Each was bound within a customised Terminator suit created from recovered wargear and fashioned as both armour and as confinement; mechanised prison cells that could be immobilised with a remote signal. Hung in chains in the holds of the World Eaters warships, foaming and screaming in impotent rage, the Red Butchers were born.

Imperial Guard: Update
It's been a while since I have updated or worked on my Guard army. Too long in fact! I recently picked up some Secret Weapon conversion bits which I will eventually do for all of my Guard (200+ infantry!). These are German WW2 gasmask helmets for regular soldiers and officers. I'll post up some pics after I get a squad painted up. Stay tuned!
